Why should you microchip your pet?
Please take a moment to read about the tiny chip which could, one day, be the only way of reuniting you and your beloved pet.
Microchipping provides a permanent, inexpensive form of identification that cannot be lost, altered, or intentionally removed.
A microchip is not much bigger than a grain of rice. It is inserted into an area at the base o the scruff of an animal’s neck. The insertion, or implantation, of the chip is very quick and requires no anaesthetic. Each microchip has a unique identification number that is never duplicated. Once implanted it can be scanned to find the details of the pet’s home and owner.
When implanted with a microchip that is part of the Petlog scheme, such as the microchips used by Class Cutz, your pet’s details are added to the National database. This enables you to be traced by an authorised body such as an animal warden who can scan your pet and read the microchip number.
If your pet is lost while you are travelling in Europe, you can still be traced as Petlog is the UK member of the European Pet Network.
